Coincidence…fate…serendipity. Which one do you believe in? Not sure? Good, because we don’t either! Isn’t it crazy and super cool to think about the way we meet people? When you stop and think about events that lead you to a specific moment or the people you meet along the way, it is neat to appreciate the way you’ve been connected. You know those crazy moments we’re talking about, right? You are interviewing for a job and the interviewer is the uncle of your childhood best friend. You take a trip somewhere and end up having coffee in the same little coffee shop as someone from your hometown. How about when you are against relationships and discouraged from meeting someone new, and boom! You meet your future spouse. How can these things be random? We honestly believe the events in our lives and people who come in and out of them each day all serve a purpose. As cliché as it sounds, we are confident everything happens for a reason.
That’s when it hit us. If every single person we come in contact with could potentially cross our paths again, shouldn’t we make the best possible first impression? And not just to people in authority or potential bosses but every individual we run into. Why is the barista at Starbucks any different than the cashier at the grocery store? Could your waitress at dinner eventually be in the same field of work as you? You never know who you are meeting and why. Maybe you cross someone’s path for the sole reason of making them smile or lifting their spirits up and that’s it. We believe it is all for a reason greater than we can imagine. So, think differently about your day-to-day interactions, opportunities that come your way and new people you meet. You never know why your paths have crossed and when you will meet again. And you know what, that’s the fun part…the “not knowing.” Surprises aren’t nearly as fun if you know they are coming before hand. Just think of life’s greatest moments as serendipitous coincidences brought on by fate (yea, that one confused us too).
Be a light to all those you come in contact with!
