Isn’t it amazing how a couple of lights, a few pieces of garland and red ribbons instantly make your heart flutter? It’s like someone waved a magic wand around and all of a sudden your normal route to work looks like a neighborhood in the North Pole.

For some people, this is annoying. You know, the Christmas prep before Thanksgiving. Not for us. If we wait until after Thanksgiving to start the Christmas carols, we don’t get enough time. If we don’t embrace the decorations and cheesy hallmark movies now, we will blink and it will already be NYE. Ok, a little dramatic maybe, but that really is our mindset. So you can obviously tell this is by far our favorite time of year. We imagine at least some of you feel the same way…well, we hope so.

With all of the gifts, treats, parties and busyness that accompany the holiday season, it’s easy to miss what is really important. You’ve probably heard the saying; “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Well, unless Jesus is wrapped in a pretty box with a big red bow, you can easily forget that.

We must look beyond the typical distractions that often blind the true meaning of Christmas. When you take a step back and soak in what is going on around you, you will learn that the holidays are one of the only times you can visibly seeing selflessness in action. It is not only the season of giving, but also the season of good.

We’ve always loved this quote, “Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!” It has always held so much truth. With so much evil in the world today, we wish this were the case in every country and within every family. This wish sparked an idea. Well, a task we should say. Twinatics are going to spread kindness the only way we know how…giving. And giving well. We are asking you to be a part of our T.A.S.K team this holiday season.

Here’s what we are going to do. Each Tuesday, starting today, we are going to post a T.A.S.K. If you feel the urge to give, please participate. All you do is post the proposed T.A.S.K with the hashtag #tasktuesday and #taskteam. Just a picture of your random act of kindness with a short caption will do. We will repost on our social media platforms in hopes of spreading the love! Another T.A.S.K will be posted the following Tuesday, so you have a full week to complete each one!  A chain reaction can only take off when others join in.

T.A.S.K #1: Freely give away food to the hungry

No one should go hungry

There is more than enough to share

Pick up some food for the homeless

And hand it out to show you care!

*We ordered some breakfast Subway sandwiches and found those in our city who were less fortunate. To be hungry is one thing. To be hungry and cold is another. During this time of feasts and family, let us not forget those who are unable to experience either of these blessings.
