It is a good feeling when you discover what your purpose in life is. We feel lucky to have realized our mission at a young age. We now have more time to hopefully make the difference we aspire to make. We use the acronym T.A.S.K, To Always Spread Kindness, to explain our mission. Sounds extremely simple, doesn’t it? Well, we are simple people and always strive to simplify the complicated.

It all started in college. We had a jar of random acts of kindness, and we would pick one each day to do. It brought us so much happiness, fulfillment and fun to do something for someone else without them knowing it. Let’s just say it stuck. We felt like little kids running around planning little surprises for our friends and even strangers. Watching someone else smile over something you did for them could possibly be one of the best feelings ever. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourself! We now have a goal to spread T.A.S.K. We hope to spark a desire for people all over to join in on this movement to brighten the lives of those around them.

How can you begin living out your T.A.S.K in life? Simple. Do something for others without expecting anything in return. Not a payment, not a favor and no recognition. Just do for others what they can’t do for themselves. We promise the feeling of fulfillment you receive from giving a little bit of yourself or your time is worth far more than a little praise. Be careful not to get too caught up in the magnitude of the T.A.S.K. It can be as simple as letting someone have your front row parking spot or treating someone to dessert who is eating alone. Maybe you have the resources to really impact someone’s life. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you are staying true to your T.A.S.K in life. By helping others you are ultimately helping yourself. And yes, we truly believe that to be true.

So how do we spread this mission of ours? We decided to start a project, and we want you to be a part of it.  We all know how powerful social media is and how quickly things can spread. How awesome would that be if the majority of people who heard about T.A.S.K through social media started implementing it into their lives, and then passed it on to those around them. We have no doubt in our mind that an amazingly positive chain reaction would occur. Here’s how you can help make this a reality. Each week on Tuesday morning we will post a random act of kindness. It will act as a little reminder and inspiration to live out your T.A.S.K that week. Use our act of kindness or create your own!

After you accomplish your T.A.S.K or notice a T.A.S.K that someone did for you, all we ask is that you share your experience on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #TASK.  Let people know what simple act you did for someone or someone did for you that day, and in doing that you will inspire a chain reaction.  This is not to tell the world what good deed you did but rather a means to inspire those around you to hopefully do the same. Instead of trying to change the world, or “boil the ocean”, we decided to change what we could. Ourselves. If each person became the best possible version of themselves and helped others to do the same, the world around us would automatically change for the better, right? Debatable, but that’s our belief and we’re sticking to it!
